Based on Qi Gong (energy cultivating exercises), this Chinese form of energy massage utilizes the Qi of the practitioner directed toward the client’s areas of pain. This hands-above-the-body modality is used to help restore proper movement of Qi in the body and relieve pain by seeking out areas of deficiency and excess and moving energy into and out of the area by way of the meridians. Restoring proper Qi flow, in turn, will provide unbalanced region(s) of the body the opportunity to become balanced.
Typical Nei Gong sessions last about 30 minutes, though longer sessions can be arranged. The patient is asked to wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing while receiving this form of bodywork. Sessions are typically performed on the table.
